The bye weeks aren't going to hurt defensive streamers as much as it did last week. I love a lot of these options and they're probably available in your league.
Green Bay is home to the terrible offensive line of the Colts which means Lambeau field will be known as sack city in week 9. The Packers have a terrible secondary but the pass rush is good enough to get hits on Andrew Luck and force some turnovers. The Chiefs managed 6 sacks on Andrew Luck in week 8 so the Packers serve as a high floor and high ceiling play in week 9.
The Cowboys are still on fire and this week they face Josh McCown and the Browns. Surprisingly the Browns haven't been as terrible as we expected but they are still awful. The Cowboys should be able to dominate on offense and get to an early lead which will give the Cowboys plenty of opportunities to rack up sacks and maybe a turnover or two. They have a solid floor this week.
Miami hosts Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets in week 9 so we have a good streaming option. Fitzpatrick has played terrible football this season and the Jets are allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Don't overthink it. The Dolphins are a great start this week.
The Oakland defense has been terrible this season but Trevor Siemian and the Broncos offense have been pretty bad too. If you're desperate for a defense then you can roll with the Raiders. They don't have a high ceiling like the Packers but you can get by with them against a game manager like Siemian who isn't going to put up many points. If none of the other options in this list of streamers are available then roll with the Raiders and pray they don't fuck this up.
